These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the GK Smart Book website and any purchase of printed or digital study material through it.

1. Introduction and acceptance

GK Smart Book (https://gksmartbook.in) is an online store for NEET preparation study material, offering printed books and digital books/PDFs. The site is operated by [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME — TO BE PROVIDED]. By browsing the site, creating an account or placing an order you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy and Copyright & IP Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. Definitions

  • "Website" — gksmartbook.in and its subdomains and pages.
  • "We", "us", "our" — the business operating GK Smart Book.
  • "You", "Customer", "User" — any person who browses, registers or orders.
  • "Account" — the login created with your email address to view orders and digital purchases.
  • "Product" — any item listed for sale; a "Physical Product" is a printed book shipped to you, a "Digital Product" is a PDF/e-book delivered electronically.
  • "Seller" / "Publisher" — a third party who applies to supply books; see Seller & Publisher Terms.
  • "Order" — a request to purchase submitted through checkout.
  • "Content" — text, images, listings, metadata, artwork, code and files on the Website.
  • "Personal Data" — data about an identifiable individual, as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Eligibility

You may browse the Website and read publicly available educational information freely. To enter a binding purchase contract you must be legally capable of contracting under Indian law. A person who is a minor should transact only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms and is responsible for the order, payment and delivery details supplied. We may decline or cancel an order where we reasonably believe this requirement is not met.

4. Your account

  • Provide accurate, current contact details; delivery and digital access depend on them.
  • Keep your login credentials confidential — activity under your account is your responsibility.
  • Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access so we can help secure the account.
  • We may suspend or terminate an account for fraud, payment abuse, piracy or serious breach of these Terms.
  • You may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy; some transaction records must be retained for legal and accounting purposes.

5. Products, listings and pricing

  • Listings show title, author, edition, format, page count, language, category and description as supplied to us.
  • Cover images and sample pages are indicative; printing, binding and cover finish may vary slightly.
  • Prices are shown in Indian Rupees. Where an MRP and a selling price are both shown, the MRP is the maximum retail price printed on or declared for the product.
  • Availability and stock counts change continuously; an item may sell out after you add it to the cart.
  • Despite care, a listing may contain an error in description, price, stock or specification. Where a material error is found we may correct it, and may cancel the affected order with a full refund before dispatch or digital delivery.

6. Digital products and licence

  • Digital purchases are delivered electronically after payment is verified by our payment provider — not instantly on payment initiation.
  • Access is linked to the account and email address used for the order, and is provided through time-limited secure download links generated on request.
  • You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for your own study use.
  • You may not redistribute, resell, upload, share, print for distribution, or make the file publicly available; you may not remove or bypass any protective measure.
  • Sharing account credentials to give others access to purchased files is a breach of these Terms.
  • Files are provided in standard PDF format. We do not warrant compatibility with every device, reader app or accessibility tool; sample files are provided so you can check before buying.
  • We do not promise perpetual or "lifetime" availability. We aim to keep purchased files downloadable from your library, but availability can be affected by rights withdrawal, legal orders or technical changes. Where access is withdrawn other than for your breach, we will offer a remedy consistent with the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • Access may be suspended where there is credible evidence of piracy, unauthorised distribution or payment fraud.
  • Refund treatment for digital products is set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Physical products

  • Printed books are shipped to the address you provide; please check it carefully before paying.
  • Delivery timelines shown anywhere on the site are estimates, not guarantees.
  • If a parcel arrives damaged, incomplete, or containing the wrong title, report it as described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • For undelivered or lost shipments we will trace the consignment with the courier and then replace or refund.
  • Repeated refusal of delivery or deliberately incorrect addresses may lead to prepayment-only or order restrictions.

8. Orders: acknowledgement and acceptance

  • Submitting checkout is an offer to purchase. The on-screen and emailed confirmation is an acknowledgement that we received your order and payment attempt.
  • The contract is formed when we accept the order — on dispatch for printed books, and on grant of access for digital books.
  • We may decline or cancel an order before acceptance for reasons including unavailability, pricing or listing error, suspected fraud, failed payment verification, duplicate submission or an undeliverable address. Any amount already charged is refunded in full.
  • Once placed, orders generally cannot be modified; cancellation is governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

9. Payments

  • Online payments are processed by Cashfree Payments on its own hosted checkout, which supports UPI and the other methods enabled on that gateway for this merchant account.
  • We do not collect, see or store card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, bank passwords or OTPs. Those are handled entirely by the payment provider and its partners.
  • The payable amount is always recalculated on our server from current catalogue prices before payment; amounts sent from the browser are ignored.
  • An order is treated as paid only after the payment provider confirms success to our server. Return to the site alone does not confirm payment.
  • Failed, cancelled or dropped payments leave the order unpaid; no goods or digital access are released.
  • Genuine duplicate payments for the same order are refunded to the original payment method.
  • Orders may be held for manual review where automated or provider-side fraud checks are triggered.

10. Coupons and promotions

  • Coupons are validated on our server and may carry a minimum order value, expiry date, usage limit and eligibility conditions.
  • Unless expressly stated, only one coupon applies per order and coupons cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Where an order is cancelled or refunded, refunds are made of the amount actually paid; a used coupon may or may not be reinstated.
  • We may withdraw a coupon or cancel orders where a coupon is obtained or used abusively.

11. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the Website for fraud, impersonation or misuse of payment instruments.
  • Do not attempt unauthorised access to accounts, databases, admin areas, storage or APIs.
  • Do not introduce malware, or interfere with the availability or integrity of the service.
  • Do not scrape, harvest or bulk-copy listings, content or files except as permitted by law.
  • Do not copy, share, upload or resell purchased digital files, or facilitate piracy of study material.
  • Do not reverse engineer or circumvent access controls except to the extent such restriction is unenforceable under applicable law.

12. Intellectual property

The Website, its source code, user interface, design system, brand name, logo, original copy, curated product metadata and original artwork are owned by us or licensed to us. Books, PDFs and other works supplied by authors, publishers or distributors remain the intellectual property of their respective rights holders and are offered here under the rights they grant. Nothing on the Website transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you. See the Copyright & IP Policy for permitted use and takedown requests.

13. Reviews and user-submitted content

Ratings shown on product pages are catalogue attributes maintained by us; the Website does not currently accept customer-submitted reviews. If review submission is introduced, reviews must be truthful and based on genuine use, must not contain unlawful, abusive, misleading or infringing material, may be moderated or removed, and you will grant us the rights necessary to display them. We do not represent that any rating displayed has been independently verified.

14. Third-party services

We rely on Cashfree Payments for payments and Lovable Cloud (Supabase — managed Postgres, authentication and file storage) for hosting, database, authentication and file storage. Printed orders are handed to courier services for delivery. Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy notices. No analytics, advertising or marketing-automation provider is integrated in the Website at present.

15. Availability of the service

We aim to keep the Website available, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, technical failures, provider outages or events beyond our reasonable control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Interruption does not affect your statutory rights in relation to products already purchased.

16. Disclaimers

Study material is provided for educational purposes. We do not guarantee any examination outcome, rank or score, and we are not affiliated with NTA or any examination authority unless expressly stated. Except as expressly stated in these policies and to the extent permitted by law, the Website and its content are provided on an "as is" basis. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable law.

17. Limitation of liability

Subject to applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of an order is limited to the amount paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as loss of study time, opportunity or examination outcome. Nothing here excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against direct losses, claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Website, your breach of these Terms, or your unauthorised copying or distribution of digital content. This applies only to the extent the loss is actually caused by you and is not attributable to our own act or omission.

19. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for fraud, chargeback abuse, piracy, security attacks, unlawful conduct, serious breach of these Terms or where required by law. Where an account is terminated for your breach, paid orders already accepted will still be fulfilled or refunded as appropriate, but access to digital files may be withdrawn where the breach relates to their misuse. You may close your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what must be retained.

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Governing courts / jurisdiction: [GOVERNING LAW / JURISDICTION — TO BE CONFIRMED BY CLIENT/LEGAL COUNSEL — TO BE PROVIDED]. Consumers may also use the remedies available under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including the National Consumer Helpline and the consumer commissions, and nothing here restricts those rights.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service, business model or law. The current version and its effective date are shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Website. Orders are governed by the version in force when the order is placed; continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms. Current version: 1.0.
