How intellectual property in our books, digital files and website content is protected, what you may do with a purchased file, and how rights holders can report infringement.
1. Our materials
The Website's code, design, layout, brand name, logo, original text, curated product metadata and original artwork are owned by or licensed to us and are protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 and other applicable laws.
2. Author and publisher rights
Books, PDFs, question banks and other works supplied by authors, publishers or distributors remain the property of their respective rights holders. We list and distribute them only to the extent permitted by the rights or licence granted to us. We do not claim ownership of third-party works.
3. What you may do with a digital purchase
- Read and study the file on devices you personally use.
- Take a personal printout for your own study where the licence terms shown on the product page allow it.
4. What is prohibited
- Sharing, forwarding, emailing or messaging the file to anyone else.
- Uploading to Telegram, WhatsApp groups, Drive links, file lockers, torrents, websites or app-based sharing platforms.
- Reselling, sublicensing, renting or commercially exploiting the file or its contents.
- Printing for distribution, photocopying at scale, or reproducing content in coaching material.
- Sharing account credentials so that others can access purchased titles.
- Removing, altering or circumventing watermarks, notices or technical protection measures.
- Scanning, ripping or reproducing printed books purchased from us.
5. Enforcement
Where we find credible evidence of unauthorised distribution, we may suspend access to digital files, suspend or terminate the account, refuse future orders and pursue civil and criminal remedies available under Indian law. Digital access records, including download counts, may be used as evidence.
6. Seller and publisher responsibility
Anyone supplying a title to GK Smart Book warrants that they own the rights or hold a valid licence to distribute it in the formats and territories offered, and indemnifies us against third-party claims. Pirated scans, unauthorised compilations and counterfeit editions are strictly prohibited and result in immediate removal.
7. Reporting infringement (takedown requests)
If you believe content on this Website infringes your rights, email [GRIEVANCE OFFICER EMAIL — TO BE PROVIDED] with: your name and contact details; identification of the work and your ownership or authority; the exact URL(s) of the listing or file; evidence of ownership; and a statement that the complaint is made in good faith and is accurate. We acknowledge complaints, review them promptly, and may disable the listing or file while we investigate. We will inform the supplier and give them an opportunity to respond, and will restore content if the claim is withdrawn or not substantiated.
8. Counter-notice and repeat infringement
A supplier whose content was removed may submit evidence of their rights for review. Suppliers or users who repeatedly infringe are permanently removed from the platform.
9. Cover art and placeholder assets
Where a licensed cover image has not been supplied, listings may show a generated typographic placeholder. No publisher artwork is used without permission.
